Our New Grade 6 for Middle School!

One of our hallmarks is that we listen to our customers and respond to their needs. So when district administrators and teachers asked us to create a new sixth grade program that would have a flexible approach, allowing teachers to teach THE GREAT BODY SHOP in one quarter, one semester, or one academic school year, we quickly went to work.

Our new Grade 6 will have nine thematic, skills-based units that incorporate a strengths-based approach to health instruction. Instructional materials are current, age-appropriate, medically accurate, and inclusive. The core lessons are complemented by a myriad of extension lessons, from activities to foster strong family and community connections to assessments nurturing wise decision-making based on identifying options, likely consequences, and personal, family, and community values.

We are partnering with select school districts to pilot the new grade 6 for fall 2024. As we have done for over 35 years, we look forward to visiting classrooms and hearing feedback and suggestions from teachers, students, and families. It is through this constant engagement with our customers, always mindful of current trends and best practices, that THE GREAT BODY SHOP continues to evolve, improve, and innovate.
